Simbiotix are proud to present this rare and exciting opportunity to own a real piece of aviation history with this full-sized Piper 28 simulator.

Fully converted from a retired fuselage, almost every switch and flight control is mapped to function in the pre-configured Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 software and high specification PC. Recently upgraded external visuals to 3 x 65” screens on portable stands for maximum immersion when flying. There is nothing like this on the market at the moment (for less than £250,000). Everything shown in the photographs in included in the sale for a fantastic, turn-key simulation solution. Delivery and installation included, provided within a certain range of PO18 postcode.

This simulator uses Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 as it’s main simulation software (MSFS2020 can be replaced with X-Plane 11 prior to delivery if required). This, coupled with the new 3 x 65″ screens gives an unparalleled visual experience, with the ability to fly almost any aircraft at any location in the World, at any time or date of the year and in any weather condition.

This fully portable simulator has been created using a previously retired Piper 28 Cherokee fuselage. The single propeller plane, registration number G-ATXM, was first registered in 1965 and includes most of its original features; Twin, linked Yokes, Rudder pedals, toe brakes and throttle/mixture levers all function as per a real aircraft. All controls have been adapted to use existing aircraft interfaces for the ultimate in immersive and realistic flight simulation. Entry and exit from the aircraft is via the original, starboard door with locking mechanisms present and fully functional.

• The cockpit fuselage is resting on a lockable roller wheel base to aid movement and transportation.
• Approximate fuselage dimensions are as follows (not including roller trolley): 1.3m(H), 1.2m (W), 1.5m(L)
• The fuselage has undergone extensive refurbishment, including the following:
• Full external repaint and livery application
• All interior carpets replaced and interior trim components restored
• Main instrument panel (MIP) removed and replaced with a full laser-cut fascia
• 3 x Monitors installed behind MIP to display digital, working analogue gauges and touchscreen controlled radio stack
• Bespoke throttle and mixture slide bars added, using hall effect sensor technology
• Hall effect sensor-controlled pitch control
• Majority of the original aircraft switches have been preserved and interfaced to function as intended within the simulation program
• Existing rudder and foot pedals utilised by interfacing to the simulation program
• 3 x 65″ 4K UHD TVs for panoramic external view
• High Specification Gaming PC built and configured to run all simulation software and drive visuals
• Surround Sound system

Software:

• The simulator uses Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, in conjunction with Air Manager. A ‘Just Flight’ Piper 28R airplane model has also been installed
• For information, this simulator would be compatible with other simulation software (such as X Plane 11 or P3D). A previous installation  of X-Plane 11 is included in the sale and would need configuration for the new owner prior to delivery if this is preferred to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.
• Provided the simulator is for home use, there are no additional or annual license costs to pay. If being used for a commercial purpose, there is an additional, one-off license cost for X-Plane 11. The simulator has been designed to be ‘plug and play’ with minimal simulator/simulation experience necessary.
